Mountains Collection

I grew up on the prairies – big skies and flat land. When I was younger, our family used to take trips to the Rocky Mountains. It was always exciting when the ‘foothills’ first came into view, and even better when those big rocks suddenly surrounded us. We’d go fishing with my dad in icy cold streams and lakes, and spent lots of time skipping rocks and just breathing in the distinct smells you can only find in the mountains.

When I married, my new home became Abbotsford, British Columbia – somewhat country like with farms and such, but surrounded by big, beautiful mountains. Their snow covered peaks are particularly stunning when the sun hits them just right.

My goal when creating mountains art is to transport the viewer to a vista that is familiar to them. I do not base my pieces on any particular mountain ranges, although often, my customers will connect it with a setting they are familiar with, for example, Mount Baker in Washington. Each mountains art piece is a visual stunner with textures, layers and colours to stimulate the senses.
