With this mosaic, I used my favourite colour combination of dark navy blue, gray, white and wood tones. Each piece was sanded and individually painted or stained before being glued in place on the backer. The stained cedar wood used in this piece came to me with a heavy patina, but just look at that beautiful wood grain that appeared once it was sanded. I love how the stain used in this piece highlights that grain!
